About Tres Golpes
Tres Golpes Bachata was born from a gap in New York’s Bachata scene. In a city with the largest Dominican community outside the island, we’re here to keep the sound, the movement, and the culture alive — through classes, socials, and spaces that actually feel Dominican.
We teach the way it’s lived: music in the kitchen, games in the backyard, parties in the street, and late-night stories in the living room. Every class is built to be fun, structured, and true to roots — a place to learn rhythm, move with purpose, and build real connection through dance.

About Edwin Alexander
I started Tres Golpes because most socials felt too modern, too sensual, and too far from the Bachata I grew up around. I missed the music that was playing every Saturday while cleaning the house. The Music that blared on those friday nights on Dykman and in the Heights.
I’m not a performer; I just like to dance. I’m introverted by nature, but Bachata gave me community, confidence, and a way to connect without talking. What I teach now comes from that: fun over form, rhythm over rules, connection over perfection.
